Malaysia’s Maxis ‘acqui-hires’ local cloud solutions company ICMS

Acquisition gives Maxis a leg up in cloud solution and services

Malaysia telco operator announced that it has ‘acquired and hired locally based cloud solutions company, Infrastructure Consulting & Managed Services (ICMS), primarily for their talent pool of specialist professionals.  

This will result in a strengthened technical workforce for Maxis with new expertise in Microsoft and cloud solutions.  

Maxis’ growth in the Malaysian ICT Enterprise services market was recently given a boost following an expansion of its cloud solutions and services offerings. The telco is accelerating its talent capacity and capabilities to help with adoption of next generation digital networks and solutions to drive market competitiveness, particularly for the SME segment. 

ICMS was established in 2009 and has over 30 years of combined on-the-field experience in designing and deploying large-scale Enterprise System & Storage Infrastructure. The company has been accredited for partnerships with Microsoft, Commvault and Dell. 

The solutions that will be integrated into Maxis’ offerings include Microsoft 365 including Microsoft Teams, IaaS and PaaS implementation on Microsoft Azure, Managed Services, Project and Professional Services, Disaster Recovery and Backup solutions. The expansion will allow businesses to now have access to a wider suite of industry leading product offerings, combining cloud, IoT, Unified Communications, mobile and fixed connectivity. 

“The current challenges being faced by many businesses due to the Movement Control Order (MCO) have amplified the critical role of technology in our day-to-day life and business. We are committed to investing in the nation through these enhanced capabilities, with the goal of supporting Enterprise, Government and SMEs with remote working solutions for business continuity, improved productivity, performance and acceleration in time to market,” said Paul McManus, Maxis’ Chief Enterprise Business Officer.
